Water (Nibi) Song

The Water (Nibi) Song was written and composed by Dorene Day (Ojibwe) with the help of her grandson who suggested the words be sung, not just spoken. Written to express love, gratitude and respect for the gift of fresh water, it is sung like a lullaby without the use of shakers or drums. It has been sung during Mother Earth Water Walks, to raise awareness for water.
